Today's post is dedicated to some Touhou rock. I didn't have anything from the albums to use as my post's cover art, so this drawing will have to do. It's funny how Patchy is the vocalist hehe. Updated 12/26/2015 - see bottom of post [TatshMusicCircle] - FAR EAST OF EAST -XI- Genre - Rock, Pop, Vocal, Touhou Site | XFD Tatsh is an old rock/pop circle that has been consistently releasing albums every comiket since 2008. I actually first discovered them while playing "FOUR SEASONS OF LONELINESS" on Osu. It was one of my favorite maps to play on Osu and was one of the songs that started my love for Byakuren's theme, Emotional Skyscraper ~ Cosmic Mind. Turns out that the whole album, FAR EAST OF EAST II [C77], was pretty damn good as well. The mastering/recording could use some work though. Their C89 release sounds alright. In particular I liked track #4, which is an electronic arrangement of "The Primal Scene That the GIrl Saw". Nothing else really stands out to me.
[QUINTET] - Loveless Genre - Electronic, Vocal, Touhou Site (Not working) | XFD Okay I'll be honest here. I didn't care for the music at all. But DAMN. THAT ALBUM ART!!! I don't think I've ever seen such a pretty Marisa, Ahhhhh... Ahem. If I ever commissioned anyone for some custom art or avatar for my blog, I'd want this guy/girl to do it. Here's his website (NSFW), Demetori is attending C89 but isn't releasing any new albums unfortunately. If you like some touhou metal, check out his C88 album, Kijin Shokuaku ~Evil People as the True Object of Salvation~. It was his first album since 2013, so I'm really glad that he's back to making music. He certainly didn't disappoint with his latest album. I'm thinking of switching over to Wordpress from Weebly. There are a lot of formatting limitations to Weebly, and the wonky spacing of the text when I use text+picture is getting annoying. Anyone with experience using either one of them? Will it be easy to switch over? I'll look into it more after Comiket 89 is over. Just 2 more days until the event! Update: I wanted add some comments on the recording/mastering issues that I had with Far East of East II and Shinigiwa Satellite in general. WIth "FOUR SEASONS OF LONELINESS", the high-hats are really splashy sounding. It's most noticeable during the chorus and the instrumental segments. I find it really distracting from sariyajin's vocals and the guitars. In addition, while the bass guitar line is actually pretty nice, the volume is just way too low in comparison to everything else. It's pretty much the same throughout the whole album but I didn't notice it with their latest album at least. As for Shinigiwa Satellite's works, all of his albums have the same problem: they sound extremely compressed. There aren't any dynamic shifts in their songs. All the instruments and vocals sound equalized in volume. It's hard to focus on and appreciate each instrument or even Meramipop's vocals individually when everything bleeds into each other. Other post-hardcore/screamo touhou circles such as Foreground Eclipse and Draw the Emotional also have the exact same problem. But if you like Shinigiwa Satellite or Meramipop, you may want to check those two circles out. Despite that, there's something special about Shinigiwa's works. They remind me of my teenage days when I used to listen to this kind of music while playing World of Warcraft. Does anyone remember laintime? If you do, then you'll know what I'm talking about :).

Added some comments on the mastering/recording quality of these two circles.
