[Alstroemeria Records] - POP | CULTURE 5 I just wrote about how disappointed I was with Alstroemeria Records in my previous post, and this album reinforces my opinion on them. Since this was one of the first few C89 albums uploaded, I ended up listening to it first.
Read on for the full review.

In this post, I'll be taking a look at my favorite albums from that were released in 2015. So that'll include releases from Comiket 87 even though it's technically from December of 2014. I've also included my favorite doujin circles that I've discovered in 2015 as well as some overall thoughts on doujin/touhou music from 2015.
Happy New Year!!
I know that I was pretty much inactive for most of 2015, but I still wanted to do a "Year in Review" post anyways. I wanted to look back at all of the VNs that I've read this year, and some of my favorite doujin/touhou albums released from C88, R12, and C87 this year. It doesn't quite make up for all the event preview/reviews and VN reviews that I missed, but I hope that you guys will enjoy it nonetheless. Piano prodigy Arima Kousei dominated the competition and all child musicians knew his name. But after his mother, who was also his instructor, passed away, he had a mental breakdown while performing at a recital that resulted in him no longer being able to hear the sound of his piano even though his hearing was perfectly fine. Even two years later, Kousei hasn't touched the piano and views the world in monotone, and without any flair or color. He was content at living out his life with his good friends Tsubaki and Watari until, one day, a girl changed everything. Miyazono Kaori is a pretty, free spirited violinist whose playing style reflects her personality. Kaori helps Kousei return to the music world and show that it should be free and mold breaking unlike the structured and rigid style Kousei was used to. Not really a full review or anything, but I finished Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) a few days ago and wanted to share my thoughts on it.
Hi everyone! It's been a long time since my last post. The usual reasons like always. But anyways... onto Grisaia! Mihama Academy—on the surface, a closed learning environment established to nurture students who find themselves at odds with the world around them; in actuality, an orchard-cum-prison built to preserve fruit that has fallen too far from its tree. Grisaia no Kajitsu is one of my favorite VNs and now there's an anime adaptation of the VN. Of course there are always drawbacks to adaptations, but once in a while there are successful ones like Clannad, Fate/stay night, and a few others. Some limitations include: censorship of content and H, removal of many scenes to allot for the time limitation, and unfaithfulness to the original work. So how did the first episode of the anime fair against it's original work? Read on to find out. Note: No spoilers beyond this post's episode (spoilers will be in black color and can only be read when highlighted), and there will be NSFW content (at the bottom, with an additional warning). You have been warned! |
