While browsing through Moriya Shrine's RPGs, I came across this 2d action rpg by the name of Tempest of Heaven and Earth ~ Suppression by Celestial. Lullaby for Gaia ~. What a long name! I'll just refer to it as Tempest from now on. The game begins with Iku running away and Yukari showing up to teleport Tenshi down to the earth. Afterwards... she progresses through the stage to do... something. No idea, I can't read Japanese. Well I've been playing this game for about 1.5hrs and so far it has been lots of fun. You travel through the stages playing as Tenshi Hinanawi. Along the way you battle enemies using various bullets, bombs, her sword of Hisou, and her stone thingy. At the end of the stage, you battle a boss similarly to the original Touhou series. They each have 5 lives and each time you take away a health, they will switch to a spellcard and then back to their normal bullets. The bosses are fairly challenging as they require you to use a different strategy for each spellcard, as well as using your dash to dodge their attacks. I'd like to keep this post short, so I think I'll write more about it once I have completed it. Give this game a try if you want to play something fun and exciting! Touhou Gensou Maroku ~ the Devil of Decline is a doujin RPG made by Strawberry Bose. Strawberry Bose is a company probably most known for their first doujin touhou rpg called Touhou, the Genius of Sappheiros (English patch available). They have made a few more games after DoD, with the most recent one being 東方玄夢妖譚 ~ the Nightmare of Rebellion (C85). As you can see, DoD has not been translated into English yet and the translation has been stalled for quite a while. However, I decided to play DoD because I was a huge fan of GoS and I wanted to play a single player RPG.
Yay, Spring break is here! I got through my Spanish midterm today as well as my art history quiz. I think I did fairly well, not that it really matters in the long run. Either way, no classes for a little over a week! Still, I'll have to do homeworks, readings, and whatever else during the vacation. So a short moment ago I just finished Touhou Gensou Maroku ~ the Devil of Decline (from now on referred to as DoD). The review will be posted up probably sometime tomorrow! Since I am done with DoD now and on vacation, I can finally finish reading Cross Channel. I've started that VN some weeks back but put it on hold as I had lots of schoolwork and wanted to finish DoD first. I think my next RPG will be Tales of Rebirth, an untranslated JRPG for the PS2. Anyways, I hope to finish Cross Channel next week before I receive my copy of Steins;gate limited edition! Been waiting a long time for that VN; I haven't even watched the anime or read the unofficial translation yet. However, schoolwork will probably get in the way of reading like usual. As for the Fuujinroku no Oto review, that should be finished by this weekend or early next week. I'm not sure what will be reviewed next but I will post that on the side of the blog. Aside from the otaku stuff, there will the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice Starcraft II tournament this weekend, which I will be watching! I am a terran fan, so I will be cheering for Jjaki, Taeja and Polt. If you're a terran fan... cheer for them! If not, then I hope you all have a nice weekend! Hey everyone!
A friend of mine asked me for a new touhou piano circle, and here it is! I discovered this circle on Touhou Radio about a week or two ago but I forgot to download the album until now. Unfortunately it seems like this is the only album by Yuki of Lobgesang. From a quick listen, it seems to be pretty decent but I'll have to eventually listen to the full album for a rating. I probably won't do a review on this album though, as there are a few other piano circles that I think are perhaps better. However, that's another post for another day when I don't have as much schoolwork (ahem... spanish) to deal with. Either way, I wanted to share this with everyone. Enjoy, and comment if you liked it!
